National Road Caravan Celebrating the Bicentennial of the Historic National Road



June 4th - 10th, 2006 : 200 Year Anniversary of the Historic National Road - Route 40

We recently participated in a vintage caravan that travelled Route 40, stopping at selected cities for photo opportunities, open houses, and presentations.

The Federal Highway Association and six state National Road Associations, who desire to enhance, promote and protect its unique resources, promote the Historic National Road. The National Road is America’s first interstate highway, and the only one constructed entirely with federal funds. The NR begins in Maryland and ends in St. Louis, covering 824 miles, traversing, Maryland, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and sections of Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
